Striker joins from Crawley Town

Burton Albion Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Gary Alexander from Sky Bet League 1 side Crawley Town on a permanent deal subject to paperwork.

The 34-year-old striker has made 26 appearances for John Gregory’s side this season, scoring five goals.

The London-born forward began his career at Premier League side West Ham United before moving to Exeter City on loan and then onto Swindon Town, Hull City, Leyton Orient, Millwall and Brentford.

Alexander enjoyed a loan spell at fellow Sky Bet League 2 side AFC Wimbledon last season, scoring three goals in 18 appearances.

Manager Gary Rowett, said: “Gary is a great addition for us, he is maybe something we’re missing at the moment.

“He is a target man and someone who has a lot of experience playing at this level.

“Gary will bring an aerial threat to the squad that maybe we have been missing when Symes has been out injured.

“He is proven at this level and knows what this league is all about,” added Rowett.

Everyone at Burton Albion Football Club would like to welcome Gary to the Pirelli Stadium.
