MCLAUGHLIN BECOMES A BREWER

23 July 2014

Former Bradford goalkeeper signs a one-year deal.

Burton Albion are delighted to have signed former Bradford City goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin on a one-year deal.

The 26 year-old was first choice for the Bantams last season after making 48 appearances in all competitions. Before signing for Bradford in 2008, McLaughlin had spells at Harrogate Town and Harrogate Railway.

McLaughlin will compete against Dean Lyness for the first choice goalkeeping berth and he’ll make his debut to play against Mickleover this evening.

Gary Rowett was excited to welcome the goalkeeper to the club.

“He brings experience,” said Rowett.

"He's bought into what we've achieved and he's looked at the summer signings and I think he's hopeful of potentiially getting into League One in the future.

"Hes got fantastic temperament. He’s played over a hundred games for Bradford and was ever-present in League One.

"He was as good as any other goalkeeper in the division, so I’m pleased to get him on board.”
