MCLAUGHLIN ON LAST NIGHT'S CLEAN SHEET

20 August 2014

The new goalkeeper reacts to his first home clean sheet

Jon McLaughlin talks to Brewers Player after last night's home win.

On last night's victory:

"It's a fantastic result for us with three great results in the league so far, so we couldn't ask for more at the start of this campaign.

"I think it was down to their goalkeeper who made some fantastic saves. He was the only reason we weren't going in at half time three or four to the good as we did more than enough to win the game.

"It was a little more difficult in the second-half as they came out and tried to get back on terms like you expect them to do. It was just a shame their goalkeeper had a such a fantastic half."

On his own performance:

"It's always nice to get a save, especially in games like this where we are defensively so strong that teams are getting limited to one or two chances a game.

"You feel confident that if you can make that one save, it can be key to get that clean sheet and to go on and get that win."

On the season ahead:

"We're already showing incredible discipline when we set up for games and the way we defend for the full 90 minutes. That discipline and that desire when we get the ball going forward is what will stand us in good stead going forward and after those 46 games we'll be right up there."
