CHELTENHAM TOWN PREVIEW

27 September 2014

Burton Albion have no fresh concerns ahead of the visit of Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League 2 as Damien McCrory and Jimmy Phillips remain sidelined through injury.

Lee Bell, Lucas Akins, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and Stuart Beavon are expected to be involved after recovering from injury, whilst Alex MacDonald will face a late fitness test.

Cheltenham Town team news

Defender Steve Elliott, who missed last Saturday's through injury, was back in training today and is fighting to get fit, but defender Asa Hall is out with a calf injury. New signing Raffaele De Vita looks set for a place on the bench.

Gary Rowett

"One or two have said they've got to play really well against us to get something.

"But again, I look at the Bury game and poor goals changed the game.

"If someone gets it spot on against us, puts together a brilliant move and cuts us open, then you hold your hand up and know you've got to change it.

"We did that against Dagenham and changed what we were doing.

"We tried a 4-5-1 against Bury, so it's not as if we've tried the same thing in every game.

"We've come undone more when we've come away from what we do best."

Mark Yates

“I have said it before and I still believe that if you finish above Burton you’ll win the league this season.

“They are a big, strong side with a real goal threat and they’ve had a disappointing couple of games, but they have missed big players who will be back to face us.

“We know we’ll have to be on our guard at a tough place to go. We need to be on our mettle, but we are capable of going there and getting a result.”

Stats

Burton and Cheltenham have met 10 times, the most recent of which was a 2-1 Brewers home win courtesy of two late Dominic Knowles goals in January.

The Brewers have won four meetings and drew one, with three of those wins coming at the Pirelli Stadium.

The fixture has a history of goals with the most notable fixture a 6-5 home defeat in March 2010.
