BREWERS defender Shaun Barker is looking forward to going back to Pride Park when the Albion take on Derby County tomorrow evening.
Barker, who sustained a horrific knee injury back in March 2012 for Derby against rivals Nottingham Forest faced four years on the sidelines but Brewers manager Nigel Clough believed in Barker and signed him for the club last August to add extra Championship experience to the squad.Â
Barker made his long awaited return to football back in August in Albion's famous 1-0 victory against his former side Derby.


Barker has made five Albion appearances so far and is hoping to be involved tomorrow evening. He said: “If I do go back and play a part that would be a huge thing for me personally but I had my moment in the first fixture coming off the bench in an historic win, tomorrow is all about the result as we are desperate for the points. We feel like we can go there and get something from the match.

“I have fond memories of my time there having played over 100 games for the club despite enduring some tough times. I am very proud of what I did at the club as well as what the manager Nigel Clough did, he did a great job under the circumstances and stabilised it. The fans were great and always remember players, I know Jake Buxton went back and got a terrific reception and I feel their fans appreciate good honest centre-halves.

“Me accomplishing any first-team football was my goal after the injury, I have been available for every game this season since being brought in and the gaffer knows he can rely on me when needed whether that’s being on the bench, coming on for a minute or ten to see out a game.”
