BREWERS MAKE DOUBLE SWOOP FOR FULHAM PAIR

27 January 2017

BURTON Albion have made a double swoop to sign Lasse Vigen Christensen and Cauley Woodrow from Fulham FC on loan deals until the end of the season.

Christensen, born in Denmark, has represented Fulham over 50 times since the beginning of the 2013 season scoring six times for The Cottagers. The 22-year-old made his Fulham debut in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup against Norwich City at Carrow Road back in 2014.

The Danish midfielder has played seven times for Fulham this season, scoring one goal in the EFL Cup in a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Craven Cottage. Christensen has also represented Denmark at U16-U21 level.

Lasse Vigen Christensen will wear the squad number 24.

Cauley Woodrow, born in born in Hemel Hempstead, signed for Fulham from Luton Town back in 2011 when The Cottagers were in the Premier League. He has gone on to make over 50 appearances, scoring eight goals.

Woodrow, 22, had a loan stint at Southend United back in 2013 and went on to score twice for The Shrimpers.

The forward has made eight appearances for Fulham this season and scored two goals in the first round of the EFL Cup against Leyton Orient to earn Fulham a 3-2 victory.

Cauley Woodrow will wear the squad number 12.

Nigel Clough said: “Lasse has a good season or so under his belt in the Championship and is a good attacking midfielder. He’s quite young but with the right experience. He’s been a bit unlucky not to feature much this season but they see him in their long terms plans and will it help for him to play for us.

“Cauley is one to add to our striking options. With Luke Varney out for four to six weeks and Will Miller’s hamstring injury it was important to get another striker in.”

Both players are eligible to face QPR tomorrow afternoon.
