STEPHEN Bywater has signed a new one-year deal with the Brewers.
The former Derby County keeper arrived at the Pirelli Stadium in January to provide cover for Jon McLaughlin and will be extending his stay to help the Brewers in the Championship.
Albion boss Nigel Clough said: “It’s great news Stephen is staying. He works very well with Jon McLaughlin, providing us with experienced cover, and has been a very positive presence around the club since joining.”
Bywater said: “It’s exciting and hopefully we can continue from last season doing well and being together as a unit. I’m very pleased and happy.
“I’m hoping we will surprise a few people. I’m sure we will if the lads listen to the Gaffer and take note of his experience. He will get a good squad together and we will do OK.”
