CARDIFF CITY BETTING PREVIEW

20 January 2017

BURTON ALBION have an opportunity to close the gap on rivals Cardiff City on Saturday but will be wary of their opponents, who look to have turned the corner.

Nigel Clough’s men have lost two Championship games on the bounce but were left frustrated last weekend with Wigan’s smash-and-grab win at the Pirelli Stadium.

New signing Luke Murphy could make his first start since joining from Leeds United, while former Cardiff defender Ben Turner will be looking to get his own back on his former side.

Burton won the reverse fixture after goals from Jackson Irvine and Lucas Akins, so will be aiming to complete a double over the Welsh outfit.

Cardiff have improved since Neil Warnock took charge and came from behind to beat Bristol City last weekend.

The Bluebirds have also boosted their ranks with the loan signing of Allan McGregor, who looks poised to make his second debut for the club.

Cardiff have now won two matches in a row for the first time this season and Warnock will want his players to put on a show on Saturday.

They remain just five points above the drop zone but know that Burton can close the gap to just two if they cause an upset at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Kadeem Harris is one to watch and netted the crucial equaliser against Bristol last weekend.

His pace and directness is likely to cause problems down the flanks but with Junior Hoilett and Anthony Pilkington also in the squad, the Brewers defence faces a tough 90 minutes in Wales.

With the clash a ‘must-win’, you can back our boys at 16/5 with club sponsor TempoBet.

Marvin Sordell is yet to open his account for the Brewers, since joining the club from Coventry, and will have one eye on the Bluebirds defence.

And you can back the 25-year-old to score anytime at 2/1.
