NIGEL Clough says that he would have taken the Brewers current position with four games to go at the start of the season.
Albion remain two points above the drop zone going into today's game at Birmingham as the relegation battle tightens up.Clough said: "We still have four games to go. It is still in our hands and if you had offered us that in August we would have taken it.
"In four of the past five seasons we would have already had enough points to have kept us up. It shows it's a strange season and it certainly is with some of the results at the moment.
"It's going to be an interesting few weeks with four or five teams in it. With us playing Birmingham and Blackburn playing Bristol City there could be a swing one way or another on Easter Monday."
Clough is hoping his team will put the Ipswich defeat to bed and move on quickly.
He said: "We lost against Brentford but then bounced back at Huddersfield, were unlucky at Newcastle and got a good point against Aston Villa. We did think five draws might be enough but looking at it now we probably need to nick a win."
The Brewers may be without Marvin Sordell, who got a bang on a hip injury he had been carrying in the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich. Kyle McFadzean missed that game through a hamstring injury and is also a doubt for today.
