CLOUGH HAS FULL SQUAD TO CHOOSE FROM FOR LEEDS

26 October 2016

NIGEL Clough will have a full squad to choose from when the Brewers visit Leeds on Saturday.

The Brewers boss said: “Everybody came through last Friday night against Birmingham. Stuart Beavon has been ill for a few days but played against Lye (in the Birmingham Senior up). So everyone is available."

Clough is likely to field a settled side at Elland Road.

He said: “There won’t be too many changes after some good performances last Friday night.”

The manager admits that maybe frustrating for some of his first time squad who aren’t featuring at present, such as Beavon.

He said: “The quality of the strikers who have come in and the experience they have at this level makes it difficult. Chris O’Grady and Jamie Ward played against Birmingham and did really well. I think Stuart’s realistic and understands that if two experienced players are playing really well at the moment that it’s hard for someone to get in in that situation.”

Beavon got a run out at Lye Town alongside the likes of Callum Reilly and Damien McCrory.

Clough said: “Lye Town was useful experience for the younger players. For the senior players it’s about game time and keeping them ticking over. If you are not in the team you have to maintain your level of fitness and their attitude has been brilliant. All the ones who are just outside the squad – they are training very hard, working hard every day so that when we need them they are there for us.”
