CLOUGH HOPES TO HAVE MORE PLAYERS AVAILABLE FOR NORWICH

15 February 2017

NIGEL Clough is hoping to have a bigger squad to choose from when Albion take on Norwich City at the Pirelli on Saturday.

The Brewers were six players down at Brighton but could have three back on Saturday. Although the team picked up a few more knocks in the 4-1 defeat at Brighton.

Having moved the QPR game forward Albion at least have seven days rest while most other teams play this midweek.

Clough said: “We are great believers in getting the points on the board and letting everyone else catch up

“Having gone down to Brighton with six players missing it gives some of them a chance to be back for this weekend and a very hectic week next week.

“Lloyd Dyer has a chance for Saturday, Cauley Woodrow as well – they are the main two in terms of coming back from injury. Chris O’Grady will be available again (the Brighton loanee couldn’t play against his parent club).”

However, there are still players on the treatment table - including three defenders.

Clough said: “It’s too early for Kyle McFadzean and John  Brayford. Damien McCrory should be in contention for next week though.

“We also have a few carrying knocks who haven’t trained this week. Jackson Irvine go a nasty whack on the top of his foot and hasn’t trained this week. Ben Turner felt his ankle. So here we are in the middle of the week and three or four who played on Saturday haven’t trained yet.”
