HOME FORM WILL BE VITAL - SAYS CLOUGH

8 March 2017

NIGEL Clough believes that the remaining home games will be crucial to his team’s chances of staying in the Championship.

Albion are five games unbeaten and after two away draws face back-to-back home fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Brentford.

Clough said: “There are ten games to go now and six of them are at home – which is very important. As well as we have done on the road in the last few games, when we are facing trips to Newcastle and Huddersfield I don’t think people are expecting us to get too much there.

“These two home games against Nottingham Forest and Brentford become absolutely vital to us. We have set a mini target of getting over 40 points before we head into the international break and I think psychologically that would be a big boost.

“We have the opportunity to go above Forest with a victory on Saturday. They had a great win against Brighton and if they hadn’t got that result we would be above them now. I don’t think anyone saw that coming but that’s what they are capable of. You are not quite sure what you are going to get.

“When you do get the likes of Derby and Forest coming here, it’s something we never dreamed would happen. It will be a good day and we should be close to a full house. With everything at stake and both teams having a massive interest then it’s going to be an important game. The bottom line is don’t lose but if we can get the three points, that’s great.”
