INJURIES AND SUSPENSIONS DEPLETE ALBION SQUAD

15 September 2016

BURTON Albion’s squad will be severely depleted for the visit of Brighton on Saturday.

Injuries and suspensions have hit the Brewers hard and Nigel Clough admits that he will be struggling for numbers.

Kyle McFadzean will be on the sidelines – notching up the second game in his three-match ban. Ben Turner is also suspended after picking up a fifth booking against Fulham on Tuesday.

Tom Flanagan, Lucas Akins Stuart Beavon, skipper John Mousinho and Damien McCrory are all carrying injuries. Chris O’Grady can’t play as he’s on-loan from Brighton.

Clough said: “I’m not sure we can even name 18 on Saturday – we might struggle to get seven subs out there. We are hopeful one or two players might be back.

“We had a depleted squad at Fulham but have now lost Ben Turner and Stuart Beavon picked up a knock and Damien McCrory came off injured so it will be a test on Saturday.

“Tom Flanagan is closer than John Mousinho but there’s fair chance both will be out. We might have to revert to a back four again, depending on the personnel available.

“Lucas felt his hamstring at Wolves. You have to be very careful with these things.

“What we will do is try and get a team out to compete - as always.”
