INJURY WORRIES FOR CLOUGH AHEAD OF BIRMINGHAM CLASH

20 October 2016

NIGEL Clough has three injury worries ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Birmingham.

Jackson Irvine, Jamie Ward and John Brayford are all doubts following Tuesday’s trip to Ipswich.

Clough said: “We picked up a few knocks at Ipswich. Jackson picked up a dead leg, John Brayford has been struggling and Jamie felt something so it will be touch and go and we have to monitor them right up to Friday evening.

“With the games coming thick and fast, it’s a tough ask, especially with how hard we always have to work. It might be a case of two or three having to come in, we will have to see.”

The Brewers boss is hoping that Albion can get back amongst the goals after drawing two blanks against Wigan and Ipswich, despite creating a host of chances.

“We have had nearly 40 shots away from home in the last two games – so it’s a bit of freakish statistic that you don’t get a goal after 40 efforts. I don’t think that will continue as long as we keep playing the same way and we want to do that.  We don’t want to sit on the front of our own penalty area waiting for teams to come to us. If we can we want to take the game to the opposition.”
