JOHN Brayford says Burton Albion's 0-0 draw against Bristol City at Ashton Gate was a vital point towards Albion's bid for survival.
The defender made his comeback from injury after missing six games with a knee problem.He said: "It was end-to-end, and there was chances at both ends, missed penalties and goals disallowed but it's a vital point from us coming away from home.
"It keeps Bristol three points behind us so it's a great point and a clean-sheet."
There were 30 shots taken in total between both sides, although you could argue Nigel Clough's men created the more clear-cut chances.
Brayford said: "They thought they could have won it, we thought we could have won it so from a neutral perspective a draw might have been a fair result.
"Probably not a 0-0 draw but overall we had some good chances and they've had some good chances at the same time but we defended thoroughly well especially the two centre-halves and Jon (McLaughlin) has made some great saves as well."
The man on-loan from Sheffield United said the game plan was to get at the home side, and that sitting back against a team with that quality was pointless: "It was pointless sitting back because they're always going to get chances so we might as well try and make some ourselves and I thought we did that on the day.
"We put some good balls in and we had some good chances that we thought we could have done better from."
