THERE was no upset at the Pirelli Stadium as Liverpool put five past Nigel Clough's much-changed Burton Albion.
Back-up goalkeeper Stephen Bywater made his debut for the Brewers as he took over from Jon McLaughlin between the Albion sticks. He was called upon twice early in the game, first to deny an on-rushing Divock Origi from close-range before then having to palm away Roberto Firmino's header from 12 yards to keep it at 0-0.GOAL: Bywater was beaten, after 15 minutes it was Origi who tapped in from two yards. Mane worked the ball brilliantly down the right-hand side before cutting into the box and pulling it back for Origi who touched the ball home (0-1).
The visitors could have easily doubled their advantage on the 20 minute mark. Henderson delivered a great ball to the back post from the left wing but Lallana's header from two yards somehow found its way wide.
GOAL: Liverpool DID double their lead just moments later through Firmino. Bywater bowled the ball out looking for McCrory but it only found Mane, he passed it to Clyne on the wing who delivered a perfect cross for Firmino to head home (0-2).
The game very much settled down after Liverpool gained their two-goal advantage. The reads looked the keep the ball and make the much-changed Burton Albion side work hard to win it back.

GOAL: Liverpool added a third goal to their tally from a corner, taken by Milner it was tapped home by a combination of Naylor and Origi (0-3).
That third goal from Liverpool gave the Brewers a bit of a wake-up call. Lucas akins burst his way down the right before cutting in and unleashing a shot which just flew over the bar.
Burton Albion academy product and Liverpool fan Ben Fox made his professional debut as he replaced Lloyd Dyer. Marcus Harness also came on as he replaced Lucas Akins.
England International Daniel Sturridge was introduced during the second half, he soon saw his left-footed effort parried wide by Stephen Bywater.
GOAL: The striker found the back of the net with just over ten minutes to go, he got on the end of Milner's cross from the right to tap home unmarked at the back post (0-4).
GOAL: Liverpool added a 5th goal for the night, and a second for Daniel Sturridge as he smashed a snap-shot into the corner of the net from 12 yards (0-5).Â
