MILLER JOINS BREWERS ON-LOAN FROM SPURS

25 August 2016

NIGEL Clough has bolstered his Championship squad by bringing in attacking midfielder Will Miller from Spurs on loan until the start of January.

Also joining the Brewers is young goalkeeper Harry Campbell, who has been given a contract until the end of December.

Twenty-year-old Miller wore the captain’s armband for the Spurs Under 21s last season and was used as an attacking midfielder. He scored four goals in 14 league appearances for Spurs Under-21s and also netted once in three Premier League Under-21 International Cup outings.

Born in Hackney, Miller joined the Tottenham Academy in July, 2012.

Campbell is also 20 and was formerly with Bolton Wanderers.

Clough said: “We have seen Will a few times with the under 23s and he was with their first team pre-season. He’s a bit different to what we have got. He can make goals and score goals.

“We have been waiting on loans and it’s a good time to get him and (subject to paperwork) he will be in the squad for the Derby game.”

Miller is on loan until January 3.

He is delighted to have joined the Brewers.

He said: “I’m very thankful for the opportunity and to be involved with this club which is moving forward so quickly. I will be happy to contribute in any way I can.”

Campbell has been signed until December.

Clough said: “It’s a short-term contract as Sam Hornby is on loan at Kidderminster and we want him to carry on getting that experience. Harry will be cover and will play in the Under 23s. You need three keepers for training as well, as if Jon McLaughlin or Stephen Bywater gets a knock you are down to just one.”

Miller will be No 18 in the Brewers squad list, Campbell will be No 27.
