NIGEL CLOUGH'S HUDDERSFIELD REACTION

1 April 2017

NIGEL Clough hailed "a big win" for his Brewers side after the last gasp victory at Huddersfield.

The Brewers boss said: "It was a game that we didn't envisage getting too much from so it was a big win for us.

"We set up to try and stop them but in the first half they bossed it. Sometimes when you do that the concentration on stopping them means you forget about doing it for yourselves but we got that balance right in the second half and then had the better chances.

"We played two up all game and changed the formation as we wanted to pose that threat.

"The red card helped us and then we got the goal on the break. Marvin Sordell got a little bit lucky with riding the tackle but then burst clear and nine times out ten a player would have shot in that situation but to pick someone out for a tap in was a brilliant spot. Jackson Irvine made up the ground and put it in.

"We thought there was a minute left but it turned out to be two and a half and felt like a long old time. But it was no more than we deserved over the course of the season when so many of those have gone against us.

"At home to Huddersfield we lost in the 88th minute and didn't deserve to so it was nice to reverse that."
