NIGEL CLOUGH'S SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY VERDICT

7 March 2017

NIGEL Clough praised his Brewers team for securing a "vital point" away at Sheffield Wednesday.

He said: "It was backs to the wall at times in the second half against one of the best teams in the league but it had to be.

"We scored a brilliant goal, conceded a very poor one ourselves but the lads did it again, defending as if their lives depended on it.

"They put so many balls into the penalty area we dealt with tonight. The goalkeeper when he was needed in the second half made a couple of good saves.

"We needed that resilience tonight because of the quality of the players we were up against. In Jordan Rhodes they have a £10 mllion striker but we kept him quiet.

"It is our record unbeaten run in the Championship but the only thing now is that we need to get something out of the next two home games against Forest and Brentford.

"We have set up a bit differently away from home and we are playing with the right attitude now.

"We went to Elland Road and Villa Park and played them off the park sometimes but came away with nothing. So we had to change it. We don't really want to play like this but at the moment we have to and we need to grind out every point we can."
