NIGEL CLOUGH'S WATFORD REACTION

7 January 2017

NIGEL Clough says he got today's starting formation wrong, but he was pleased with Albion's performance overall at Vicarage Road.

Watford took the lead on 22 minutes through Christian Kabasele who was unmarked at the back post.

Clough said: "I take responsibility for the first 20 minutes but once we changed it round to a back four I thought we looked a lot better so I probably got it wrong with the starting formation.

"Then again young Marcus Harness has made a couple of errors leading up to the first goal but once we changed it to a back four we played much better and I thought it was up pushing for an equaliser in the second half, we played some good stuff."

The manager was also adamant that the Brewers should have had a free kick leading up to Watford's second goal.

"There's a blatant foul leading up to the second goal," said Clough. "First of all we should have cleared the ball then he (Harness) has been done on the edge of the box but that's what you get with young players unfortunately. They are going to make mistakes but unless you put them out there they are not going to learn."
