BURTON Albion will hit the road once again in the Sky Bet Championship as they travel 177 miles east to take on Norwich City.
The Brewers will be heading into the game off the back of an unlucky defeat at home to Brighton last Saturday whilst Norwich have won their last four games, including an EFL Cup upset against Everton in midweek.Norwich, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, currently sit second in the Sky Bet Championship having lost just one game this season and have a goal difference of +4.
Burton have lost three games this season, two at home and just once on the road but they haven't yet lost a game by more than one goal. Nigel Clough's men have scored as many as they have conceded this season, so their goal difference is 0.
The Canaries recruited well in the summer, having notably brought in Sergi Canos from Liverpool, Michael McGovern from Hamilton, Nelson Oliveira from Benfica and Alex Pritchard from Spurs.
Nigel Clough has recognised the strength of Norwich's squad heading into Saturday's game at Carrow Road:
"Norwich went to Everton in the EFL Cup and can make 10 changes something like that.
"They have a very strong squad and they will say that’s what they need to stand a chance of getting back up.
"I think they are trying to do it the best way by keeping the squad together so that if they do get back up they will be better the next time in the Premiership."
Former Premier League defender Ben Turner, now of Burton Albion, says Carrow Road has a ‘banging’ atmosphere:
“Norwich has one of the best atmospheres and when they are playing well the place is banging.
“Unfortunately for us we are playing one of the best teams in the league straight aft playing one of the best teams (Brighton) – but that’s the Championship. No-one said it was going to be easy.”
