ROTHERHAM BETTING PREVIEW

3 December 2016

THE BREWERS have the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways on Saturday when they host managerless Rotherham, who are in a state of disarray.

Burton showed improvement last weekend when they held ever-improving Preston to a draw at Deepdale and were unlucky to not come away with all three points.

Draws aren’t good enough for the Yellows at present but manager Nigel Clough is buoyant his boys can pick up a much-needed win before the busy Christmas period.

And they couldn’t be playing Rotherham at a better time, who were rocked by the resignation of Kenny Jackett after just five games in charge.

The former Wolves boss was brought in to steady the ship but had a tough start – picking up just one point since the start of this reign.

The Millers, who insist there was no fall-out between Jackett and the board, have failed to record a Championship win in 14 games; sitting rock bottom and 12 points from safety.

But that’s not to say that they don’t have quality among their ranks.

Striker Danny Ward has eight goals this season and is supported by the on-loan Chelsea attacker Izzy Brown, who is highly-rated at Stamford Bridge.

The attacking duo have been the real bright spark for The Millers but will be forced to lead the line without the experienced Peter Odemwingie, who was sent off against rivals Leeds United.

While Burton are winless in their last four games, an improved performance against Preston sees them head into the clash full of confidence.

You can back our boys at 37/50 with club sponsor TempoBet.

Record signing Jackson Irvine was impressive last weekend and will be aiming to emulate his goalscoring antics – helping to fire The Brewers up the Championship table.

Irvine is available at 31/20 to score anytime.
