The Albion boss said: “We are not there yet. Leeds dropping out of the play off places puts something extra on the game when they come here on Saturday as well.
“As bad as we felt on Friday with other results not going for us we feel a lot better after winning on Easter Monday but we must remember we are not there yet.
“The supporters were incredible yesterday, the noise they made throughout the game. They sensed it was an important game and responded to the character we showed. I hope it’s enough to help us stay in the league."
It means there will be a lot riding on the game when Leeds visit the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.
Clough said: “They are going for the play offs and we are desperately trying to stay up. It’s certainly not a mid table, nothing-to-play-for-game. It should be a wonderful occasion.”
Albion could be without keeper Jon McLaughlin who went off injured yesterday.
Clough said: “It was an awkward challenge when their lad fell on him and it twisted his shoulder so we will have to see how it goes. Marvin Sordell’s hip was sore after Ipswich but we are hoping he will be fit to face Leeds.”
