Lee Bell has picked up this season’s Burton Albion Supporters Player of the Season Award at the annual Player Awards Dinner at the Pirelli Stadium; hosted by BBC presenter Manish Bhasin.
The midfielder has been hugely influential in a successful campaign for the Brewers; making 50 appearances in all competitions including 42 in the league.
A mainstay in the heart of the Brewers’ midfield, Bell has also contributed four goals to the cause since signing from Crewe in the summer.
The Player Awards - kindly sponsored once again by Crestchic Loadbanks - was a successful one for Jacques Maghoma, who made three trips to the stage in total; claiming the Top Goalscorer, Players’ Player of the Season and Runner-up Supporters Player of the Season awards to cap an excellent campaign to date for the 25-year-old.
Matty Palmer enjoyed success once again as he was presented with the Most Improved and Promising Young Player for the second successive season.
Calvin Zola was rewarded for a stunning performance during the 4-0 win over Oxford United in September by picking up both the Individual Performance of the Season Award and Goal of the Season Award for his exploits in the game at the Pirelli Stadium.
Zander Diamond won the award for Burton Albion Player in the Community whilst club volunteer Ian Hawkins was deservedly picked up the Service and Support to Burton Albion award for his contributions to the club down the years.
There was also a recognition award for former Burton Mail Sports Editor Rex Page for his longstanding contribution to the club; an award that was handed out by former Brewers manager Neil Warnock.
