FIRST HOLLAND GAME ENDS IN VICTORY

9 July 2015

BURTON ALBION In HOLLAND

BURTON Albion's first team are currently in Holland as they prepare for the start of the League One season.

Last night the Brewers had a training fixture against AFC Arnhem in which they strolled to a 10-0 victory.

The Brewers have got one more game to play, against ADO Den Haag who play in the Eredivisie - the top tier of Dutch football.

The Den Haag game will take place on July 11 but will not be played at the Dutch Club's Kyocera Stadium.

Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says: "The play on an artificial pitch and I didn't want to do that. I wanted the game on grass."

Instead it will be played at the home of Laakkwartier with a kick off time of 5pm (local time). The ground opens 90 minutes before kick off. There is limited parking but fans can use tram lines 16, 17 or  the 18 bus in The Hague. Entrance tickets costs 7.50 Euros (adults) or 5 Euros  (youth under 13 and 65+) .

Hasselbaink believes that the Holland trip will be important in helping the squad bond as well as building towards the start of the new season.

He says: "I wanted a similar climate to England as I think that it is important. I didn't want to go somewhere like Spain, where it can seem more like a holiday."

Albion will travel to Holland after the pre-season friendly at Mickleover on July 4.

They will return to prepare for the first pre-season game at the Pirelli Stadium when Albion take on Wolves on Saturday July 18.
