CALLUM REILLY PENS A DEAL WITH THE BREWERS

5 June 2015

Burton Albion have signed young midfielder Callum Reilly as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink looks to strengthen his squad for League One.

Reilly has signed a two-year-deal which will see him stay at the Pirelli Stadium until June 2017.

The Brewers brought in the 21-year-old on loan from Birmingham City last March, but after making his home debut in the crucial play off battle with Southend, he was forced off with a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the rest of the campaign.

Reilly, who has played more than 60 Championship games for Birmingham, was released as former Brewers boss Gary Rowett looks to build a squad to challenge for promotion.

Hasselbaink sees the Republic of Ireland under 21 international as a young talent who could add an extra option to the Brewers midfield next season.

David Oldfield, assistant manager said “We are very pleased Callum has signed. He is a very valuable addition to group and we feel he is a good character with good quality and importantly, still has lots of potential.”

He added “We are very pleased to have him.”

Callum will join the Brewers subject to a medical.
