DAVID OLDFIELD SAYS REILLY ISN'T A REPLACEMENT FOR LENIHAN

21-year-old Callum Reilly has joined the Brewers on loan until the end of the season. Callum can play in the midfield position, which fans assumed he would be a replacement for the recently recalled Darragh Lenihan.

After speaking to the press this afternoon, assistant manager David Oldfield insisted that Callum will come in and have his own right do show what he’s worth.

“He is definitely not a replacement for Darragh (Lenihan)” David Oldfield told burtonalbionfc.co.uk

Lenihan made 17 appearances for the Brewers during his loan spell, scoring on goal in the meantime. Oldfield was impressed with Blackburn’s youngster and thought the he was tremendous.

“Darragh did a fabulous job and was tremendous for us before he was recalled back by his parent club.

“Callum will certainly come in on his own right and will set his own qualities on the group.”

After racking up 66 appearances for the Blues already in his career, Callum Reilly has got a fantastic pedigree considering he is still just 21 years of age.

Despite his age, David Oldfield is confident that Reilly will add his own qualities to the existing group and he believes that the youngster will do well with the Brewers.

“Callum joins us today and hopefully will add his qualities to our group and he will do well here."
