How do the Brewers do it?
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s record has been astounding since joining the Brewers back in November, but how do they do it?
“By not sitting still with a win.
“By not all of a sudden stop working in training.
“We keep on working.”
What is a player’s training routine like? What do they eat? This is all stuff the fans never get to see or hear about, but Hasselbaink isn’t a believer of giving his player’s a day off for the sake of it.
“It’s not like we are not training or have an extra day off.
“We are in, they are in, I am in and we train, we prepare for Stevenage, that is what we are doing.
“We need to perform first, we need to be ready.
“That is what we do, that is what we have to do.
“We can’t now say they deserve a day off because they are going so well.
I think it is fair to say that Hasselbaink has got the players focused on him, his tactics and his style of play. With just three losses since he took over, he revealed his training secrets.
“There is no let up.
“I am big believer that you get a day off because you need a day off.
“We all want to work to get a win but you need a day off because you have worked so hard that you need a day off and your body needs a day off, mentally you need a day off.”
