JIMMY PHILLIPS HAS JOINED ALFRETON TOWN ON LOAN

27 March 2015

JIMMY Phillips has joined Alfreton Town on loan until the end of the season.

Currently Albion’s longest serving player, Jimmy was one of the first players to sign for the club following their promotion to the Football League back in 2009.

A highly regarded youngster with his hometown club, Stoke City, Jimmy progressed through the ranks at the Britannia earning himself a first team squad number for season 2008-09 but surprisingly Jimmy was released at the end of the season and the Brewers were quick to snap up him up on a two year deal.

His first season saw him notch the goal of the season award for a superb team goal away at Grimsby Town. Manager Gary Rowett kept faith with Jimmy when he took over and the livewire winger was a regular in the side last season until a bad knee injury at Easter ended his campaign keeping him out of pre-season and the start of the 2014-15 season.

Phillips has featured just once this season when he made a substitute appearance on boxing day against Tranmere Rovers.
