LUXEMBOURG INTERNATIONAL JOINS THE BREWERS

5 August 2015

BURTON Albion have signed Luxembourg international striker Aurelien Joachim on a one-year-deal.

The striker becomes Hasselbaink's 11th summer signing after his latest signing Jerome Binnom-Williams joined on loan late last month on a season-long loan.

Joachim has featured over 50 times for his national team scoring six goals in the process.

At club level, the 28-year-old has most recently scored five goals in 20 appearances for CSKA Sofia.

Aurelien Joachim said “I was here a week ago. My first impressions of the training pitch and everything else was really really good. The way we train is great. It is a nice club.

"I think Hasselbaink is a great coach. When you see the training it is very hard but you gave to train hard to succeed. He is a great coach.

"I can speak French, German and Dutch so I can speak with Timmy Thiele and Dutch with Nasser which helps."

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said “He will bring goals, hopefully. He's got some real experience and he plays for the Luxembourg national team.

"He's got several caps behind his career from that.

"We expect him to lead the front line when he plays and challenge our strikers for a place.

"He'll be available for Saturday."

He will join the Brewers subject to international clearance.
