McLAUGHLIN SAID "THE WAY WE LOST WAS DISAPPOINTING"

6 September 2015

A second defeat of the season and a first defeat at home mean Hasslebaink’s men stay 5th in Sky Bet League 1.

A first half goal from Tudgay and freak second half goal from Vincelot gave Coventry all 3 points from the game but McLaughlin holds his hands up for the goal that cost them the game.

“Yes it was disappointing and the way we lost was disappointing.” He said.

“It was my mistake for the goal and it has ended up costing the team who have worked really hard and after taking the lead in the game, we feel really disappointed.

“I can only apologise to the lads for what has happened but ultimately we haven’t got the result we wanted.

“The other lads seem to think the goal was offside because the lad son the goal line has got a touch on it but from my point of view, I don’t know.

“I am there going for the cross so I can’t see but the linesman has given the goal.

“At the end of the day, it was a routine ball that I should have took but I have misjudged the flight and it cost us.”
