Burton Albion's fine February form has been rewarded with Manager Gary Rowett and midfielder Jacques Maghoma picking up the npower League 2 Manager and Player of the Month awards respectively.Â
Four wins and a draw in five league games in February ensured that Burton Albion maintained a spot in the automatic promotion positions; scoring 16 goals in the process.
Key to the Brewers’ run of form were the performances of Jacques Maghoma; the 25-year-old contributing heavily with four goals including a superb curler into the top corner in the 4-2 victory over Exeter City.Â
The Manager of the Month award is decided by former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Partnership and Sponsorship Manager Katy Thomas.Â
The Player of the Month panel sees Katy Thomas joined by Wolves legend Don Goodman, BBC Sport’s Mark Clemmit and The Football League’s Head of Communications, John Nagle.Â
Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson commented: ‘Gary and his staff have produced some exceptional results and have assembled the strongest squad that we’ve experienced since we gained promotion to the npower football league.
