SHREWSBURY WILL BE ANOTHER TOUGH TEST SAYS EDWARDS

29 August 2015

DESPITE Shrewsbury's poor start to the new season, defender Phil Edwards says that it will be tough to get three points against a team the Brewers know well.

Albion travel to Shrewsbury today looking to continue the great start to the League One season against a side still looking for a first win.

The Shrews were promoted alongside Albion last year but have had more difficulty adjusting to the new level so far.

Edwards says: "They haven't started as well as us but it's only early days. We have had a good start but I'm sure they will be looking to record their first win so we have to prepare right, be on our game and make sure we can get another three points."

Albion lost 1-0 in the corresponding fixture last season and Edwards says that keeping Shrewsbury out may well be the key.

He says: "We need to get back to keeping clean sheets as that makes it impossible for the other team to win games.

"We have momentum from last year and that helps, that winning mentality. We have that League One experience in the squad and that means there is no fear from us.

"When we play teams like Sheffield United and Coventry the pressure is on them not us. But we are hoping to do things right this year again and hopefully we can."
