BAFC 1-0 Blackpool

It was a case of 'Happy New Year' Brewers as Mark Duffy gave ten man Burton Albion the perfect start to 2016 with the only goal of the game against Blackpool. The on loan winger curled a precise shot beyond the reach of keeper Colin Doyle from the edge of the penalty area midway through the second half as Albion, a man light after the dismissal of midfielder Robbie Weir towards the end of the first half, absolutely battered the Seasiders in the opening stages of the second half. It was a fitting goal to mark Albion's milestone 400th goal in the Football League in their 300th fixture as a League club and perhaps apt that it took Nigel Clough's men back to the top of League One.

Coventry City 0-2 BAFC

Second half goals from Calum Butcher and Stuart Beavon sealed an outstanding victory for Nigel Clough's Brewers at the Ricoh Arena as fellow promotion contenders Coventry City were ruthlessly put to the sword.

BAFC 1-2 Shrewsbury Town

A first defeat for Nigel Clough since returning as Burton Albion boss certainly wasnt in the pre match script and it was only a stoppage time winner from Shrewsbury substitute Shaun Whalley that ensured the struggling visitors left the Pirelli Stadium with all three points at the end of a frustrating game for the Brewers.

Peterborough United 0-1 BAFC

Tom Naylor's third goal of the season sent Albion back to the top of Sky Bet League One as hosts Peterborough United were caught cold on a blustery night at the ABAX Stadium. Naylor tapped home from close range in just the third minute of the game, converting Mark Duffy's cross and a determined and disciplined rearguard action ensured that all three points returned to the Pirelli Stadium with Nigel Clough's men.

Rochdale 2-1 BAFC

Rochdale finally grabbed a first Football League win over the Brewers at the eighth attempt as Albion suffered a second defeat in three games. Callum Camps with a stunner early on and Ian Henderson from the penalty spot had Keith Hill's side well in command in the first half and whilst Lucas Akins' lobbed effort gave Nigel Clough's men hope in the closing stages a frustrating afternoon ultimately sent Burton home empty handed.
