THE SKIPPER NOT GETTING CARRIED AWAY BEING AT THE TOP OF THE TABLE

9 October 2015

THE Brewers travel just up the road, 58.4 mile round-trip to be precise, on Saturday to face second in the table Walsall.

The Saddlers struggled last season finishing 14th in Sky Bet League One losing 15 games, more than they had won.

It has come to everybody’s surprise that this fixture is already being labelled as a ‘Top of the table’ clash so early on in the season.

“If you had said to me at the start of the season ‘this is going to be a top of the table clash’ I don’t think I would have quite believed you but having said that, I know Walsall struggled last season but I remember playing them a couple of years ago under Dean Smith and they were excellent.” Said Albion Skipper John Mousinho.

He went on to add “They had a real batch of youngsters but they had to sell a couple of them off but they have re-built brilliantly.

“They play good football. I know their manager is getting a lot of plaudits.

“I would have expected a tough game any way so I think it is nice that this is the position that both teams are in.”

The Brewers are sitting pretty at the top of the table, in the dizzy heights some would say. John ‘Moose’ Mousinho explains how important it is that himself and the team do not get carried away with being at the top.

“I think it is important that we don’t get carried away with our league positions because when we get down to it on Saturday, it is going to be irrelevant.

“It can maybe add a bit of pressure but we need to be very focused.

"We have just got to take care of the result, take care of the performance and just make sure we do ourselves justice at Walsall.”
