TOM FLANAGAN "WE HAD ENOUGH CHANCES TO WIN THE GAME"

2 September 2015

After a cruel penalty shootout in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy away at Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat, Tom Flanagan said his namesake was quiet after the game as his penalty was saved by Marosi.

“Tom was a bit quiet after the game but he's a big character around the place, and I've seen that having only been here a short while.

“There's no blame game here. We had chances, I had a chance myself, to win the game.

“We had enough chances, obviously mine, Aurelien had one and Lucas had one.

“We had three or four gilt-edged chances and I can't really remember them having any.

“Had it been a league game, coming away from home, keeping a clean sheet and maybe nicking a win would have been brilliant.”

The Brewers came out stronger and quicker in the second half after a quiet first half for both sides. The travelling fans were waiting for the late goal that the Brewers have been known for in recent weeks but it didn’t come.

“The gaffer wasn't particularly happy at half time.

“We kind of sat off them a bit and I'm not sure why.

“We showed in the second half when we put some pressure on them that we're much better as a team. That's something we need to work on a little bit.”
