Brewers Supporter Celebrates 18th Birthday at the Pirelli

Posted on: Tue 24 Aug 2010

Burton Albion helped to make it an extra special 18th Birthday celebration for Brewers fan, Tom Cheadle.

Tom enjoyed Saturday's match against Morecambe from one of the Pirelli Stadium's Executive Boxes.

It was an extra special occasion for Tom, as his father, Mark, had secretly arranged to have a Brewers replica shirt signed by the whole squad and framed. This was presented to Tom just prior to kick off by Club mascots Billy and Bettie Brewer.

Tom has an incredible story of his own after receiving a Princess Diana Award following treatment for a brain tumour when he was just 12 years old. Tom was treated at the Birmingham Children's Hospital and returned to school where he was nominated for the award.

Mark said, 'It was a massive surprise for Tom and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We first came to Burton Albion matches as a family for the Boxing Day and New Year's matches when Tom was two. But he's been a regular at Burton now for the last eight or nine years.'
