Jimmy extended his stay with the Brewers to a third season at the end of his previous deal in the summer of 2011. Jimmy caught the eye playing for his home town club, Stoke City where he made rapid progress through the youth and reserve ranks earning himself a first team squad number for the 2008-09 season with his tricky wing play. A short spell out on loan to Stafford Rangers gave him exposure to first team football and when he was surprisingly released in 2009 it was Paul Peschisolido that jumped in to bring Jimmy to the Pirelli Stadium. A promising first season was capped when Jimmy's first goal in League football, away at Grimsby Town, won the club's goal of the season award. A stop-start 2010-11 season saw Jimmy on the fringes of the first team and determined to re-establish himself during the coming season. .
