Exciting young striker with an excellent eye for goal. James was with Liverpool from the age of eight and signed his first professional contract at the age of seventeen at the end of his first year with the Academy. Injury kept him out of the FA Youth Cup Final in 2008 but returned fully fit last season to score a number of important goals for the under-18s alerting several clubs to his talents. With competition fierce at Anfield, James negotiated his release from the club to pursue his career and try to establish himself in the Football League. Signed for Albion having impressed against Albion in a reserve match while trialling for Sheffield United before persuading Paul Peschisolido to sign him after a short trial with the Brewers towards the end of last season.
