Damien is now Albion’s longest serving player after signing a new two year contract in the summer.
Damien signed on a free transfer from Dagenham & Redbridge in the summer of 2012 after surprisingly being released from the East Londoners.
A key part of the team that won promotion from League 2 at Victoria Road, Damien continued his good form after signing for the Brewers and was a regular performer until an injury forced him to miss the play-off final in 2014.
He retuned to smash home the 14/15 goal of the season within minutes of his comeback and has been a key part of the defence that has secured a double promotion.
Damien began his career as a left sided midfielder with Plymouth Argyle during their time in the Championship, Port Vale and Grimsby Town taking him on loan during his time at Home Park.
Despite the Mariners wanting him on a permanent basis it was the Daggers who paid a five figure fee to take him to Essex where he proved a big success. A former Republic Of Ireland under 18 and 19 international he was also Albion’s Player’s Player of the Season in 2013/14.
