UPDATED 09:26 5th August 2013 Like fellow Brewers midfielder Robbie Weir, Adam is a former Larne Youth and Tranmere Rovers player. After impressing with hometown club Larne Youth a move to Aston Villa gave Adam the chance to make the grade in England. Scored 4 goals in 7 reserve outings for Villa before a serious knee injury curtailed his progress. After recovering his fitness and a place in the Villa reserve team Adam was released in the summer of 2010. After initially quitting the game Adam rediscovered his passion for the game by joining Southern League side Hednesford Town in March 2010 after a trial with Cheltenham Town. The following pre-season Adam trialled with Tranmere Rovers signing an initial one year deal and going on to spend three seasons with the Wirral club scoring 12 times in 88 appearances prior to his release in the summer. After trialling with Birmingham City in pre-season financial constraints at St Andrews meant the Blues were unable to offer Adam a deal with Gary Rowett moving swiftly to capture his signature on a two year deal at the Pirelli Stadium. Adam has also represented Northern Ireland at under 16, 17 and 21 levels and also received a call-up to the full squad in 2013 without making his full debut.
