Burton Albion Academy

Dave, a former professional footballer who was capped by the Republic of Ireland up to under 21s level, joined the Academy in 2016 and was part of the under 16s coaching staff before moving into a full-time role overseeing the development from under 12s to under 16s in 2017.

The main aim of Dave’s role is to help players to progress from the youth development phase to the professional development phase and, ultimately, the first team.

Freeman came through the ranks at Nottingham Forest before going on to have a successful career in Ireland.
