BURTON Albion return to action at the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow, with Peterborough United the visitors. Find out all you need to know ahead of the fixture, kicking-off at 3pm, here.

Supporters may also notice an increased police presence at the ground this weekend, with officers wearing Kick It Out t-shirts in support of the Kick It Out charity’s campaign. Burton Albion and Staffordshire Police do not tolerate the use of any form of homophobic, racist or discriminatory language or abuse. With the Hear It, See It, Report It strategy, fans can report discriminatory behaviour which they may hear or see through the Kick It Out app, or by speaking directly to a police officer. Football is everyone’s game.

HEAD 2 HEAD

Despite first meeting 15 years ago in the FA Cup, the Brewers and Posh have met only eight times in total, with three of those meetings coming in the aforementioned FA Cup. Overall, our head-to-head form against Peterborough is three wins, one draw and four defeats.

Of the five league meetings, all have come in League One, but the Brewers are without a win against Posh in the last three meetings.

The reverse fixture, a 1-0 away defeat on November 23, 2019, saw the Brewers dominant much of the game but lose only to a 25-yard screamer from Ward in the dying minutes of the game.

BREWERS TEAM NEWS

Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough has outlined the doubts ahead of tomorrow’s match, with the biggest concern being Richard Nartey.

The young Chelsea-loanee has returned to his parent club for treatment on a calf injury he picked up away at Ipswich Town two weeks ago.

The remaining doubts are John Brayford, Stephen Quinn and Jake Buxton. John Brayford picked up a knock on his knee during our win at Southend United, whilst Quinn also picked up knocks in the same match, whilst a groin problem persists. Club captain Buxton is still a doubt due to a rib injury that has forced him to miss games periodically.

PETERBOROUGH UNITED NEWS

Posh come into this fixture on the back of a good run of form, which has seen them score 13 goals in their last four games. 12 of those goals came in three matches; away at Ipswich Town, at home to Oxford United and then at home to Southend United, hitting four in each respectively.

They have lost only one of their last six matches, with that loss coming last time out, as Posh were beaten at Fleetwood Town on February 15. Since then, they have had a two-week break owing to not having a fixture on Saturday, February 22.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Tomorrow’s match officials will be referee Brett Huxtable, assistants Natalie Aspinall and Paul Hobday, with the fourth official being Aaron Jackson.

Huxtable last refereed the Brewers during our 4-2 victory away at Oxford United in August, whilst Posh last saw Huxtable oversee one of their fixtures in their FA Cup victory over Dover on December 1, 2019.

This season, Huxtable has overseen 26 matches, with nine of those coming in League One. In total he has issued 91 yellow cards, converting two to red, whilst also issuing two straight red cards and nine penalties.

TICKET NEWS

Both home and away fans will be eligible to pay in cash on the turnstiles they arrive at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.

Terrace access will be available in the UK Waterproofing Solutions Stand (Popside) and the Don Amott Stand (West) for home fans, whilst Peterborough United fans will be able to spectate from both the Russell Roof Tiles Stand (away terrace) and in the away section of the Carling Stand (seated).

Fans of both home and away clubs who wish to have a seat in the Carling Stand will be required to purchase a ticket from the ticket office beforehand.

Please note that prices increase by £2 each on matchday, so anyone wishing to attend can save by purchasing their tickets in advance before 5pm today.

MATCH REPORT: PETERBOROUGH UNITED (H)

HONOURS even at the Pirelli Stadium as John Brayford's thumping header secured a point from a 1-1 draw with Peterborough United.

Both goals came in a second half that was infinitely better than the first as strong winds made conditions for flowing football difficult.

Mo Eisa grabbed the lead for the visitors after they capitalised on Albion missing two defensive headers to create an opportunity for the striker to fire home just after the break. Brayford though led by example and his powerful header was enough to secure a hard earned point.

Injury forced the Brewers into one change for the vist of Posh, Conor Shaughnessy picked up a knock in training in the days before the game and had to surrender his place in the back three to Kieran Wallace as Albion stuck with the 3-5-2 formation that earned victory at Southend in the last outing.

Both sides struggled early on in the blustery conditions with passes overhit or holding up in the conditions and it was the visitors with the first moment of any real danger when they won a corner on 16 minutes that went past everyone in the box allowing Albion to eventually clear the danger.

Kieran O'Hara was eventually called into action on 24 minutes as midfielder Jack Taylor looked up from midfield and decided to have a crack at goal from at least 25 yards yards forcing the keeper to beat the ball away as it travelled at pace straight at him.

The visitors continued to use the conditions marginally better and when a driven pass through the middle found the run of Eisa the striker looked poised to open the scoring until the flag of the assistant ruled that his shot, which ony found the side netting anyway, would have been cancelled out even if he had found the target.

Albion had to dig in to half time and with the conditions against them level at the break was not too disappointing.

Having defended so well in the first period some poor work at the back handed United the lead six minutes after the break. Albion missed two headed chances to clear on the edge of their own box allowing Siriki Dembele to find EISA, the striker calmly slotting home into the bottom corner.

Albion quickly made a change with Reece Hutchinson coming on for Colin Daniel, the Brewers having already reverted to a back four late in the first half.

Hutchinson was soon in the thick of the action sending in a teasing centre just after the hour mark that just evaded the outstretched leg of Ryan Edwards trying to advance into the box and bag himself an equaliser.

Albion did not have long to wait for the leveller though and it was the skipper leading by example as BRAYFORD met Sarkic's corner with a firm downward header that bounced into the roof of the net.

For a while Albion pressed for a second but it was United who went closest to striking again, Eisa forcing a good save out of O'Hara with his legs.

The Brewers were going for it from here on in as both Scott Fraser and Nathan Broadhead were introducing as attacking substitutes in the final quarter of the game to try and win it.

Fraser came closest to snatching all three points for Albion in the final minute of normal time with a driven effort that flew wide of Christy Pym's goal.

Both home and away fans will be eligible to pay in cash when they arrive for their entry into the ground.
