England Under-17s v Italy Under-17s
England manager Roy Hodgson will be a special guest at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday evening to watch the England Under-17 International side take on Italy in the St. George’s Park International Tournament.
Hodgson, who guided the Three Lions to the quarter final stage of Euro 2012, before losing on penalties to Italy, will be casting his eye over the next generation of emerging English talent.
Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson said, ‘It will be an honour to welcome Roy Hodgson to the Pirelli Stadium and it is terrific for the town of Burton upon Trent to be hosting the young international side. The new St. George’s Park National Football centre is a wonderful addition to the local area and the town of Burton can look forward to playing a leading role in the development of football in this country for years to come.’
Burton Albion welcomed previous England manager Fabio Capello to the Pirelli Stadium as part of the Italian’s visit to launch the Queen’s Hospital Scanner Appeal in March 2010.
Tickets for Wednesday evening’s match which kicks off at 7.00pm are available to purchase from Burton Albion and are priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. The England Under-17 side will also be in action on Sunday 2nd September at 2.00pm at the Pirelli Stadium when they take on Portugal.
Tickets for both matches can be purchased by calling 01283 565938 or visiting the Pirelli Stadium Club Shop. Tickets will also be available on the day for both games priced at the same amount.
