Grimsby Reserves 0-3 Burton Reserves

Paterson and Triallist McDermott on Scoresheet

Burton Albion's reserve side earned a 3-0 victory over Grimsby Town reserves on a blustery afternoon at Blundell Park. Striker Matt Paterson scored twice for the Brewers with triallist Greg McDermott also on the scoresheet.

Brewers manager Gary Rowett said, 'It was a relatively good performance in difficult conditions, it was so windy it was ridiculous. We had a strong team out and Matt got two goals although he'll probably claim a hat trick because I think McDermott the triallist practically kicked it in on the line.'

Former Brewers striker Greg Pearson also made his comeback from injury during the match.

Brewers XI: Lyness, Corbett, Stanton, Austin, Webster, Rooney, Doyle, Palmer, McDermott, Paterson, Kee.

Town XI:  Fleming, Hatton, Ford, Cuff, Morrall, Southwell, Artus, Griffin, Smith, Pearson, Cook.
