Brewers travel to the Ricoh Arena, JPT Round One

Burton Albion will hope to pull off another cup shock as they travel to the Ricoh Arena to face Coventry City in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tonight.

The Brewers have already beaten Sheffield United and Leicester City in the Capital One Cup and they will be looking to claim another scalp– this time against the Sky Blues.

Their cup heroics have come at a price though with the Brewers only picking up one win in four games in the league.

With that in mind and a full squad to choose from, Gary Rowett could rest a number of his first team including striker Calvin Zola for their game against Rochdale on Saturday. Changes will be limited though with the competition rules dictating that either six players in the previous starting eleven or six of the top eleven starters this season must start the match.

Burton will be confident of causing another upset though, with Coventry having no permanent manager in place and starting their League 1 campaign in mixed form.

Coventry who are making their first appearance in the competition could field loan signings Callum Ball and David McGoldrick upfront.
