Brewers calling for local support

27 August 2013

Burton Albion are calling on supporters to create a carnival atmosphere when Barclays Premier League side Fulham travel to the Pirelli Stadium this coming Tuesday; 7:45pm kick-off.

A dramatic 95th minute winner saw the Brewers victorious in the first round of the Capital One Cup at Bramall Lane earlier this month; Albion’s second win over Sheffield United in as many seasons.

The reward is a first ever League Cup home tie for the Brewers and it comes against a side with an embarrassment of riches to call on including the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Darren Bent, Adel Taarabt and Scott Parker.

The Pirelli has witnessed some terrific cup games in the past including a famous 0-0 draw against a star-studded Manchester United in 2006 and, more recently, a 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough in 2011.

With Gary Rowett’s men making an encouraging start to the 2013/14 campaign, the scene is set for another magical cup night at Burton and Chairman Ben Robinson is calling on supporters to get behind the team.

‘The Fulham tie is a great one for the club and we are all extremely excited about hosting our first Capital One League Cup home contest.

‘We all know what a fantastic occasion cup matches have been in the past and it will be fascinating to see Burton – who secured the best home record in the entire country last year – take on Fulham and their talented squad.

‘I’m sure our supporters will be as vocal and enthusiastic as ever and it will be great to see a busy and vibrant atmosphere for what promises to be an excellent and entertaining evening of football.’

Seating and terrace tickets are still available to purchase in advance of the match either from the Club Shop or by contacting the Ticket Office on 01283 565938 with the club open for business this bank Holiday Monday.

Any remaining tickets will be able from the ground on the day of the match.

Tickets for the match are priced at the same rate as league fixtures with the exception of seating for 16s and Under; which sees a small increase.
