Junior Brewers Day a success

30 August 2013

Burton Albion’s Junior Brewers Day took place on Thursday, 29th August; much to the delight of the Brewers’ young supporters.

The eagerly-awaited day represents one of the standout aspects of the Junior Brewers Supporters Club package with plenty of other events also taking place across the season.

The all-day event, attended by over 50 of the club’s young fans, saw the Junior Brewers arrive at 10am before taking part in a wide variety of activities organised by the Burton Albion Community Trust.

The day included plenty of football-related events including multi-skill sessions with the Trust’s qualified coaches, street football, X box games, table tennis as well as a keenly contested Billy and Bettie drawing competition; with the winning picture appearing in the next matchday programme.

The Junior Brewers also got a behind the scenes look at Burton Albion with a guided tour of the Pirelli Stadium; allowing the excited young fans the opportunity to take in the changing rooms and the opportunity to walk through the players tunnel.

At the end of the afternoon there was one final treat in store for the youngsters as they were joined by the entire first-team squad; who were happy to chat with the fans, sign autographs and pose for a group photo.

The day is the latest success for the Junior Brewers, the official young supporters club of Burton Albion, at a time when the club has more members than ever before.

Burton Albion Community Trust Manager Andy Taylor commented: ‘It has been great to see the new generation of fans at Burton Albion here today and we look forward to welcoming them back to the Pirelli many times in the future.

‘The Junior Brewers membership has grown in popularity having now reached the 100 members mark and continues to go from strength to strength. Days like this really helps the club engage with these young supporters and it was brilliant to finish a successful day off with them being able to meet their heroes.’

Membership to the Junior Brewers Supporters Club – which is kindly sponsored by Frankie and Benny’s - costs just £15 and comes with a wide variety of exclusive benefits including competitions, events and the opportunity to apply to be a Brewers mascot.
