Capital One Cup First Round

Burton Albion are through to the second round of the Capital One Cup for the second season in a row after a thrilling night at Bramall Lane saw Chris Hussey score twice to send Sheffield United out of the competition at the hands of the Brewers for the second season in a row.

A goalless first half was the prelude to an exciting second period where Hussey opened his Burton account four minutes after the restart when Mark Howard in the Sheffield United goal palmed Adam McGurk's cross into the path of the former Coventry man who gleefully drove home. Home skipper Michael Doyle equlaised midway through the halfway with a 30 yard screamer but it was Albion who had the last laugh with Hussey burying a thumping header in the final minute of stoppage time to send the Brewers fans home happy and looking forward to the second round draw on Thursday lunchtime.
