Community Trust Launches New Strategy

8 February 2013

Inspire, Engage, Educate

The Burton Albion Community Trust has launched its Inspire, Engage, Educate strategy during a highly successful afternoon at the Pirelli Stadium on Friday.
Close to 200 prominent members of the East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire community were in attendance for the presentation; which outlined the Trust’s ongoing commitment to the local community.
Having been established in September 2010, the Trust now reaches up to 1200 individuals a week, delivering programmes under the diverse umbrella of Participation, Social Inclusion, Disability, Education and Health.
The event saw speeches from both the Chair and Manager of the Trust, Fleur Robinson and Andy Taylor respectively, Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson and Football League Trust General Manager Mike Evans before being closed by Andrew Griffiths MP.
The award for the best-received speech went to 15-year-old Dani Coltman; who delivered an inspiring account of her role as a Young Leader with the Trust.
Fleur Robinson said: ‘The Trust’s strategy aims to deliver high quality programmes through inspiring, engaging and educating in order for individuals to reach their full potential.
‘To have such a great turnout was tremendous and testament to how highly regarded the Burton Albion Community Trust is in the area.’
Andy Taylor added: ‘The Trust’s staff work tirelessly so it was great to be able to showcase their efforts and highlight both the work they put in and, most importantly, the results they achieve.
‘However this wouldn’t be possible without the backing of external organisations, so to see so many important people actively engaged in the Trust’s work was very rewarding.’
